First off, it appears our intrepid artist is running a bit late with this week's comic. Hopefully he'll have it finished soon.Today's Lunch: Peanut Butter on Raisin Bread This morning as I approached the pharmacy I noticed something seemed a bit off... I couldn't quite figure out what it was, but something about our hours of operation and staff sign seemed different: ![]() I took a look closer, and gasp! ![]() Apparently our hours of operation on Sundays now are from 0 AM to 6 PM! What sort of clever, evil minded mad man have the audacity to sneak into a store opened 24 hours, with security cameras and staff everywhere, and make off with a high valued piece of plastic! Upon further investigation, it was clearly a rip and run job, as evidence upon close inspection: ![]() The prongs used to secure our plastic lettering in place was still wedged into the board! Brute strength, and clever wit was definitely used against us today. Investigations are still under way, but sadly there are currently no leads on the whereabouts of the suspect. Investigators are currently scanning through security footage in hopes to ID the thief. More information will be reported as it becomes available. First I would like to take a moment and say hi to any return visitors that are coming back to the website. If my stat tracker is right, we're getting a decent number, and I'm glad you enjoy the comic (and maybe even my little blogs)Today's lunch: Corn dogs (mmmm everything is better dipped in batter, deep fried, and put on a stick!) & a chocolate chip cookie! Today I'm gonna offer a little advice to anybody wishing to visit a pharmacy and get their prescriptions in a decent time. As with everything in life, timing is everything, and especially so in the pharmacy. There are some key times to avoid, as well as time that are best to arrive, that ensure you will at least get the lowest wait time. Let's start off with discussing the days of the week. Usually Monday, Tuesday, and Friday are the busiest (most of the times Monday is worst of all, but every now and then one of the others sneak in there with a lot of business). Monday and Tuesday are busy because all the doctors are closed all weekend, and you get the surge of three days worth of work in one, while Fridays are often busy with everybody trying to get their pills in before the weekend. The slowest day of the week by far is Sunday (if your pharmacy is even open that day, some small pharmacies don't even bother) and a somewhat close second is Saturday. If you bring in work over the weekend, the pharmacy staff might be gleeful to see you after being so bored... Tuesday and Wednesday are what I would call your average day. Usually not too slow, or too busy, but sometimes can be one or the other based on how many people are sick that day. Of course now you might ask, what times should you avoid? Generally right after the pharmacy opens is usually busy (as often times they are dumped with work that was called in overnight, or left in the system for them from yesterday) and you should probably avoid the pharmacy for the first hour or two it's open. Also if your pharmacy closes for a lunch break, there's usually a small mob waiting for them to re-open, so avoid that time at all costs. For the best times, usually the later in the evening the better, especially if the pharmacy is open late. Also usually in mid-morning things are generally quiet and the staff has gotten caught up with their work load. So the best times of the day would be about 2 hours after they open (say if they open at 9am, come in at around 11am) or about an hour before closing time. However be careful not to come too close to closing time, or they might not be able to get it done in time! Well I hope my little bit of advice helps you avoid the crowds, see you all Saturday! Today I'm going to make a slight adjustment to the lunch break blog, while still writing it at work during my lunch break, but before publishing I'm going to wait until I get home so I can edit it and make sure it's a proper standard before putting it out for public consumption.Today's lunch: boneless BBQ chicken wings So today I want to talk about silly people, and one silly person in particular. Now when it comes to drugs, it often brings the worst out of people. Now I understand for the most part, people are sick, don't feel right, just wanna get their pills and go home, and when a wrench gets thrown into the system from one problem or another that causes a delay... well people can get wacky (or worse... much worse...) So this lady whom we shall refer to as Miss A brings in a terribly written prescription for an anti-biotic, which means we have to call the doctor to figure out what the hell they were writing the prescription for. So after explaining the situation to miss A and telling her we'll take care of it, Miss A whips out her cell phone, still in line, and calls up her doctor, while at the same time my pharmacist is also trying to call her doctor so we can get the mess all fixed up. In the end, her gesture of impatience did nothing to speed up our attempt at fixing the problem, and instead made it worse by confusing the hell out of the doctor's receptionist. Even so much that they accidentally hung up on my pharmacist while the poor receptionist tried to juggle both calls at the same time. Then miss A reportedly got the correct info (which I can't take over somebody's cell phone) and it just happened to be the same wrong information we needed to correct in the first place. After finally convincing her we could handle the situation on our own, Miss A begrudgingly left us to do our work, adding about 30 minutes extra to her wait time by wasting both ours and her doctor's time. So the moral of the story: when we say we'll take care of it, we mean it. So get out of our way and let us take care of it! Comments (9) |
